5 Things We Learned from Web Summit Lisbon 2024

Web Summit Lisbon 2024 has come to a close, and what a phenomenal event it was for HTCD. From the electrifying energy of thousands of startups to invaluable conversations at our stand, here are five key takeaways from our experience:

1. The Art of the Pitch: Connecting Beyond the Cloud

Pitching cloud security to a broad audience is no small feat. Deep tech professionals often find themselves trapped in their own jargon, making it challenging to articulate what we do and why it matters to a non-technical audience. At Web Summit, we learned that great storytelling transcends acronyms and technical stats.

For example, we drew parallels between security and frictionless experiences—like waiting two hours in immigration lines versus zipping through e-gates with facial recognition. That’s security making a real difference. When we demonstrate the value and urgency of security in relatable ways, we connect better and move the needle for businesses and individuals alike.

2. Interacting with Over 100 People at Our Stand

Our stand at Web Summit saw its fair share of traffic on exhibition day, drawing in over 100 visitors intrigued by what HTCD has to offer. It wasn’t just about showcasing our Cloud Security and Compliance SaaS—it was about fostering meaningful connections.

We demoed our product to attendees, giving them a firsthand look at how HTCD simplifies cloud security and compliance through AI-driven insights and intuitive dashboards. The excitement and positive feedback were both inspiring and affirming.

These interactions also provided invaluable insights into customer needs, helping us understand what businesses are looking for in their security solutions. What’s more, we picked up some fantastic new connections that could evolve into impactful collaborations down the line.

3. Drawing Inspiration from Innovation

Web Summit was a treasure trove of creativity and ingenuity. From AI-driven applications to next-gen hardware, companies showcased cutting-edge solutions for a myriad of industries.

For the member of our UI/UX team in attendance, it was an incredible opportunity to observe trends, identify what works, and explore new ideas for improving HTCD’s user experience. Seeing how other innovators are tackling their industry’s challenges inspired us to push boundaries in our own solutions.

4. Investor Connections

One of the things we truly appreciated about Web Summit was how easy it made connecting with investors. The event’s structure and resources facilitated introductions and meaningful conversations, providing a perfect platform to showcase HTCD’s vision.

Interacting with investors wasn’t just about pitching—it helped us refine our perspective on what investors look for. Their insights into market trends, growth strategies, and expectations not only validated but also further sharpened our roadmap. These conversations were invaluable in shaping how we communicate HTCD’s potential moving forward.

Bonus Takeaway: Visa Cash App RB F1 Car—A Showstopper

While unfortunately, we couldn’t literally take it away, amid the tech and innovation buzz, we couldn’t help but admire the stunning new Visa Cash App RB Formula 1 car. Driven by Liam Lawson (who recently replaced Daniel Ricciardo) and Yuki Tsunoda, the team behind the VCARB 01’s design has truly made a mark with their striking new livery, and as our team does include a motorsport enthusiast or two, there was much drooling and gawking involved at the sight of this purebred racing machine.

Looking Ahead

Web Summit Lisbon 2024 was nothing short of amazing. The connections, insights, and opportunities have left us inspired and ready for what’s next. But we’re not done yet!

Our next stop is Microsoft Ignite in Chicago. If you’re attending, set up a meeting with the HTCD leadership team and discover how we’re simplifying cloud security and compliance. We look forward to seeing you there!
