Role Overview
HTCD is looking for a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test plans to ensure the quality of our cybersecurity solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in manual testing, with additional automated testing exposure, a plus, and a keen eye for detail. You’ll work closely with our product and engineering teams to perform quality assurance and ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Planning and Execution: Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for manual testing.
- Automation: Where applicable, design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts.
- Bug Tracking and Reporting: Identify, document, and track bug defects and work closely with engineering teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to understand product requirements and provide testing insights.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and improvement of testing processes, tools, and techniques to enhance product quality.
- Documentation: Document testing processes, results, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and standardization.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in software testing.
- At least 1 year of experience in a senior or lead role where you had to manage test cases, and bug reports and drive/maintain bug resolution timelines.
- Experience in testing complex web applications and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, and cloud applications (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC).
- QA test case and test script development.
- Defect Tracking skills via modern tracker tools, e.g. Jira, Github Project Boards, or similar ticketing/issue tracker software.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or others).
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Capable of defending bug reports through strong documentation and communication of bug validity.
Additional Considerations:
- Experience conducting performance, load, and stress testing to ensure system reliability under varying conditions.
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for test automation.
